Brits are most likely to be best friends with their old schoolmates, according to new national research commissioned by Flint Eye & Level Head beers.
Over 6 in 10 Brits (64%) say they have a best friend, and their best mates are most likely to be old school friends (28%), followed by colleagues (16%), university course mates (13%) and their mums (13%).
According to the data, Brits are dedicated to their best mates, with 63% describing them as a ‘legend’, and nearly a third (28%) saying they would happily lie for a friend. Trust is also the number one quality people look for with 41% of respondents voted it as the most important attribute in a best bud, followed by a good sense of humour (15%).
This month, drinkers can pick up a free pint of Flint Eye or Level Head, in participating Greene King pubs, by nominating their very own legendary best mate online. All they need to do is head to www.greeneking.co.uk/deals/legends-free-pint and say why their legendary friend deserves a free pint. Entries must be submitted before Wednesday 11th of October.
An e-coupon for a free pint of either Flint Eye or Level Head will be issued, for Brits to enjoy with their legend between Friday 13th and Sunday 15th October.

Flint Eye is a dry hopped lager that celebrates the Neolithic flint tipped arrows found in and around Bury St Edmunds, and Level Head is a hoppy session IPA. The 4% beer is the winner of a silver medal at the 2023 World Beer Awards and references the legend of St Edmund himself.
