The inspiration for the name relates to the Rose Garden in Bury St Edmunds, once part of the Monastery's orchard.
Local legend tells of townspeople scaling the orchard walls under cover of darkness, slipping past the guards to help themselves to the monks' finest fruit. Among the most prized were the peaches, often stolen and shared amongst friends.
