Eubank v Benn 2: live boxing. Fight details, undercard and what to expect

After a chaotic 12 rounds and 582 punches, Eubank v Benn is back at our pubs showing boxing near you this autumn.

Following in their fathers’ footsteps, Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr are once again fighting for their family names on the biggest stage yet. According to Eubank, there’s still a score to settle. Well, we’re ready. It’s time to watch live boxing. Let’s get ready to rumble!

What happened in the first Eubank v Benn fight?

Dubbed ‘The Ring: Unfinished Business’, Eubank v Benn is the fourth instalment in a family rivalry spanning over 35 years. After their fathers’ bouts in the early 90s, Eubank and Benn took to the ring in April to settle the score once and for all. After 12 gruelling rounds and a multitude of drama leading up to the fight (dubbed ‘Fatal Fury’), Eubank won by unanimous decision in what he called a ‘dogfight’.

Leading up to the first fight, family and fighter conflict dominated headlines. From the Eubanks’ sudden reconciliation to Benn’s failed drug test and the media conference that ended with a broken egg and both fighters held back by security, we can expect more than just a fight when the fighters step into the ring in November.

What to expect from The Ring: Unfinished Business

While rumours suggest that Eubank should retire, the Brit claims that he still feels fresh, capable and wants to continue to fight. Although his father, Chris Eubank Sr, retired at age 32, Eubank Jr is keen to carry on, despite being four years older than his predecessor.

Benn believes that his loss in the spring was a result of a lack of discipline, as this was his first fight in over three years following suspension after an unintentional failed voluntary drug test. Back in camp and training harder than ever, Benn needs to win this contest to guarantee the chance of a trilogy fight and settle the scores once and for all.

The fight is set to be held in the middleweight division, meaning both fighters will need to weigh in at under 163lbs. In April, Eubank was fined £375,000 for weighing in at 0.05lbs overweight and ended up hospitalised, blaming the rehydration clause for his illness.

We can certainly expect to see both fathers in attendance, too. After both Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank Sr accompanied their sons through the ringwalks earlier this year in dramatic fashion, we can almost guarantee that both proud dads will be supporting their fighters once again.
