The British Grand Prix with Greene King Pubs

What a season! In 2025, Formula 1 has provided us with non-stop action. It’s the last year of the current regulations and these teams have come out fighting! From the wet, nail-biting season-opener in Melbourne to the most rookies on the grid in over ten years and more drama than you can keep up with off the track, we’ve been treated to a whirlwind of high-octane entertainment all season long.

The 2025 British Grand Prix is set to be one of the best races of the year (although, we might be a little biased). From the grandstands to the pit wall and even for us down at the pub, we’re in for a weekend to remember. And, we’re showing the action all year long so you can always watch live motorsport at the pub with us.

When is the British Grand Prix 2025?

5.89km of pure high-speed racing around Silverstone Circuit. But when do you need to be ready and waiting in front of the TV?

04/07/2025:

  • Free Practise 1 at 12:30pm
  • Free Practise 2 at 4pm

05/07/2025:

  • Free Practise 3 at 11:30am
  • Qualifying at 4pm

06/07/2025:

  • British Grand Prix at 3pm

To kick off the weekend, Free Practise 1 will be held for an hour at 12:30pm on Friday the 4th of July for our first chance to see the cars in action for the weekend. We’ll get a glimpse of their expected form in the following sessions and might even get a rookie appearance from some teams.

Free Practise 2 will be held for another hour of racing at 4pm on the 4th, while Free Practise 3 is scheduled for the next day (Saturday 5th) at 11:30am.

Then, the main event begins. Qualifying is set to commence at 4pm on July 5th – expect fastest laps, roaring fans and, of course, our pole sitter. Whoever you’re rooting for, this is set to be an incredible show.

Once the grid is set, the cars will go into Parc Ferme, ready for Sunday’s race at 3pm. Following Brundle’s classic grid walk, it’s lights out and away we go for the 2025 British Grand Prix.
If all that’s not quite enough for you, you can catch more motorsport action with Formula 2 and Formula 3 as the junior categories take to the track across the weekend too. It’s the perfect opportunity to size up next year’s rookie candidates!

The stars at Silverstone

While you might think of Formula 1 and picture Ferrari, many class the Silverstone Grand Prix as the home of racing. Let’s take a look at the drivers and teams who call Silverstone their home:

He’s got a straight named after him, he’s last year’s British Grand Prix winner and he’s arguably the most successful Formula 1 driver of all time. It’s Lewis Hamilton. One half of Ferrari’s iconic 2025 lineup, it’ll be his first home race in red – but can he pull another victory out of the bag?

It’s the home race for our two other British drivers, Lando Norris and George Russell, too. Russell’s performance has been consistent in 2025 so far after Mercedes put their trust in him to lead newbie Kimi Antonelli into the world of F1, while Norris is charging his McLaren towards his first World Championship title after narrowly losing out to Max Verstappen last year.

Rookie Ollie Bearman will be looking to impress in his first Formula 1 race at home too, having earned his seat in some stand-out stand-in performances in 2024. With Haas’s form looking strong this year, Bearman could stand a chance at some points at Silverstone.

Teams-wise, Aston Martin, McLaren and Williams are the true home teams here at Silverstone, although many teams have a base somewhere in the UK. McLaren are set for a record-breaking weekend following last year’s Constructors Championship win, Williams are looking stronger than ever this season after signing Carlos Sainz and Aston Martin will be looking for a small miracle to help them out in this campaign. Has the Newey effect been left at Red Bull?
