A canalside favourite for locals, gig-goers and tourists

The Malt House has its roots in the malting business, where grains were converted into malt for use in flour or alcoholic drinks. Ironically, the building would go on to transform into a pub that provides patrons with the alcoholic beverages it used to help create. Located just over the canal from the Utilita Arena, this waterside spot is the perfect place for you to visit before a concert to enjoy pre-show drinks, or to fill up on great food after a day at the adjacent aquarium. It’s also loved by locals and sports fans, with the best of the action shown on both indoor and beer garden screens.

Take in the Two Towers of inspiring Edgbaston

The Garden House is built into three 19th century homes in the Edgbaston area of Birmingham. This quaint pub is a scenic half-mile walk away from the tower of Perrot’s Folly and the tower at Edgbaston waterworks — said to be the inspiration for J.R.R Tolkien’s Two Towers Lord of the Rings novel. Inside, you can feel the family- and dog-friendly atmosphere, with a menu full of traditional food and a wide variety of drinks. All of which you can enjoy in the spacious beer garden.
