Welcome to The Crown, a Grade II listed pub in the heart of Seven Dials, Covent Garden. Standing since 1833 on a site that has housed a pub since at least 1702, it is almost as old as the streets themselves. Once surrounded by breweries, gin shops, and taverns, Seven Dials was one of London's great drinking quarters. At its centre, each of the seven corners was once an alcohol-related establishment — today, The Crown is the last pub that remains. Set in St Giles' notorious rookery, this was a world of narrow streets, crime, and shadowy characters, shaping writers like Charles Dickens and later Agatha Christie, who are known to have visited. Inside, original tiling, ornate mouldings, and mosaic floors remain, alongside a carefully kept selection of cask ales, wines, and continental lagers. Perfectly placed in the West End, it's ideal for theatre-goers, shoppers, and anyone seeking a true piece of London pub history.
