About the Roebuck
Perfected over generationsThe Roebuck has been treating customers to the spectacular views of Richmond Hill since 1717, a view celebrated in world-famous paintings by Jasper Francis Cropsey, Sir Joshua Reynolds and of course, J.M.W Turner. Carefully refurbished and restored for 2024, our pub can be enjoyed by generations to come, with beautiful surroundings to make every moment memorable.
Treat your family to a special dinner, pop in for a lunchtime pint or kick back and relax after a walk with your four-legged friend. At the Roebuck we know you’ll find your drink of choice, plus a menu full of comforting classics. We love an excuse to celebrate too, so if you’re looking for somewhere to plan a party, look no further than The Turner Room, our private dining space, or speak to the team about other private reservation options.
The art of brewing
We know how much care and expertise goes into the art of brewing, so behind the bar you’ll find a wide selection of beers and cask ales to celebrate this much-loved craft, including our very own Roebuck Pale Ale and regularly changing Guest Ales. We also offer draught lager and cider, plus low and no-alcohol beers and soft drinks from brands such as Fentimans, Dalston’s and Belvoir.
For wine lovers, our carefully curated range by the glass and by the bottle, will really hit the spot. Discover intense reds, like the Argentinian Esquinas Malbec, or light and fruity whites such as Cuvee Amelie Chardonnay. For special occasions, only a bottle of fizz will do, and you’ll love our exquisite Champagne selection.
And for when the mood takes you, enjoy a simple spirit or a signature cocktail, perfectly served by our team.
A celebration of the traditional
From hearty roasts and moreish starters to sharing plates, homemade pub snacks and indulgent desserts, it goes without saying we really love our food, so whatever time of day you pop and see us, there’ll be some delicious dishes waiting.
Our lunchtime, dinner, Sunday and snack menus are full of cosy pub classics with quirky touches. Our Homemade Welsh Rarebit Sausage Rolls will be the talk of the town, and our Roebuck ploughman's sharing platter for two features our best ever scotch egg, complete with an oozing orange yolk. For lighter bites you can enjoy the nostalgia of a fish finger sandwich, or our famously comforting Great British Cheese Toastie.
Whatever your taste (and hunger level), we’ve got something for everyone, including a tasty sandwich selection for daytime snacking and delicious options for vegans and vegetarians.
Welcome to Richmond
Referred to as ‘an unrivalled landscape’ by Sir Walter Scott, Richmond Hill has been captivating artists and writers alike for centuries, which is probably why it's the only view in Britain specifically preserved by an Act of Parliament. From the Roebuck, you’ll be able to take in the full beauty of the surrounding landscape, from boats floating along the Thames to cattle grazing on Petersham Meadow.
If you’re looking for things to go in Greater London, Richmond is a great place to visit, with direct trains from London Waterloo or via the Underground’s District Line. Take a stroll around the world-famous Kew Gardens, brush up on your history at Ham House or explore the charming shops along Richmond High Street–the choice is yours! And when it’s time to rest your feet and recharge with traditional food and drink, we’ll have a table ready and waiting for you at the Roebuck.
