Perfected over generationsThe Inn on the Green has lived many lives as Harpenden has evolved from a sleepy rural village to a thriving town. The original 17th-century cottages were extended to house Salisbury’s Hardware Store and Cycle Shop from the 1860s. Years later, this bustling hub of trade and craftsmanship was turned into Mary-Ellen’s Tearooms, bringing the homely pleasure of a cup of tea and a slice of cake to the locals.
Today, we celebrate this journey through the centuries to become The Inn on the Green—a cosy pub overlooking the 'Village Green'. Join us to soak up the buzz of local life from our welcoming front terrace on a summer’s day.
