Crack on with these Easter plans at Royal Oak

Easter is one of those occasions that deserves to be done. Good company, proper plates and an excuse to linger a little longer than usual. Join us this Easter and make a meal of it, for get-togethers that call for something a bit special (without getting fancy for fancy’s sake).

Think tempting starters, comforting mains and desserts that persuade you to make more room. It’s familiar enough to please everyone, but special enough for those long, laughter-filled meals that turn into memories.

We've put on our (Easter) Sunday best

There's nothing quite like a Sunday roast on Easter, enjoyed with the people who matter most. Your choice of Turkey Breast, Sirloin of Roast Beef, a Turkey & Beef Duo, or a tender Lamb Shank. And, of course, we've not forgotten about the veggies. Our Beetroot, Sweet Potato & Butternut Squash Tart and Mushroom & Ale Pie pack a whole lot of plant power.

If you're not joining us on Easter itself, we're still serving plenty of delicious pub classics to see you through the long weekend. Of course, if you're more in the mood for a drink (or two) on those extra days off, we're happy to help. Our bar's fully stocked with your favourite beers, wines, spirits and ciders – and we've got a table with your name on it.

Reasons to hop over this Easter

Easter is one of those rare moments where diaries open up, and everyone’s suddenly free. No rushing. No alarms. Just proper catch-ups that only happen when the whole table’s together.

Toast over roasts

Crisp roasties, generous gravy and plates piled high, because Easter Sunday deserves nothing less. Whether you’re all-in on tradition or mixing it up, this is the kind of roast that keeps everyone happily quiet (until pudding).

Less reason to rush

From grandparents to little ones (and everyone in between), Easter brings everyone together. You don't need to stress over the washing, worry about burning the veg, or even about pouring your own drink. We've got every part of your day covered!

Perfect to book ahead

Easter comes around once a year. Tables don’t stay empty for long, so booking ahead means one less thing to organise (and one more thing to look forward to).

What do people eat over Easter?

Easter Sunday lunch is all about the flavours that bring people together. Traditionally, lamb is a popular choice, but many people choose beef, turkey, or gammon as their Easter centrepiece. The trimmings could be even more important—fluffy Yorkshires, golden, crispy roast potatoes, and seasonal veg all drenched in gravy.

Of course, the sweet side of Easter is just as important. You'll find hot cross buns making an appearance at breakfast tables across the country, best enjoyed warm with butter melting into each bite. From rich fruit cakes and traditional puddings to mountains of chocolate goodies, Easter is definitely the time to embrace your sweet tooth.
