Chef & Brewer, the 145 strong country pub restaurant brand, has launched a new no-gluten containing steak & IPA ale pie designed by students at the University of Nottingham.
The new pie, which is available in all pubs now, was created in partnership with supplier Made Without and the University of Nottingham, who tasked postgraduate food production management students with making the perfect pastry for a no-gluten containing pie.
To accompany the pie, Chef & Brewer is also stocking a new no-gluten containing lager from Skinny Lager, which is vegan friendly and comes with 30 per cent fewer calories.

Jeeva Sanmugam, managing director for Made Without, said: “We know that no-gluten containing and dairy free products are no longer a ‘nice to have’ on a menu or a token gesture, consumers are demanding more choices and expect to be treated equally when it comes to flavour and choice, they expect food to be great tasting and current and fit alongside the core lines on a great menu without compromise.”
