Indie rock band and music legends the Charlatans will play an acoustic set at a London pub this Friday 11 August.

The Charlatans will take to the stage for an intimate acoustic set at the Anchor, Bankside on Park Street after a live broadcast of Johnny Vaughan’s Radio X evening show from the Greene King pub this Friday from 4pm. Those looking to attend are encouraged to arrive early as entry is first come first served.

General manager of the Anchor, John Gohery, said: “It will be amazing to have The Charlatans and Johnny Vaughan at the pub, we’re really looking forward to putting a great night on for our guests to enjoy.

“Greene King’s summer of live music continues as we search for the next big thing with our Live at your Local competition which will conclude with the live final taking place at the Indigo, O2 next Friday (18 August) with Razorlight headlining.”

This is the second Radio X live broadcast organised by Greene King, the first of which saw Simon Fowler and Oscar Harrison from Ocean Colour Scene perform an intimate gig in a Manchester pub in June. The broadcasts form part of the summer long partnership between the pub company and Radio X. The collaboration has already seen the release of an exclusive new ale, Amplified, which is available in more than 700 pubs across the UK and live on air pub quiz.
