We recognise that strong governance is central to delivering our business strategy, generating shareholder value and protecting our shareholders' long-term interests. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of corporate governance.

The UK Corporate Governance Code sets out guidance, in the form of principles and provisions, on how companies should be directed and controlled. It covers issues such as board composition and effectiveness, the role of board committees, risk management, remuneration and relations with shareholders.

The Financial Conduct Authority requires companies listed in the UK to disclose how they have applied the principles and whether they have complied with its provisions throughout the financial year. Where the provisions have not been complied with companies must provide an explanation for this.

We report each year on the extent to which Greene King has complied with the UK Corporate Governance Code.

Visit the Financial Reporting Council website for more information on the UK Corporate Governance Code provisions.
